With the temperatures slowly dropping fishing at the Goldenloch is improving daily, the problem with the Algae is now just a memory and anglers are slowly getting their bags filled even during the brightest of days, fish are feeding again on the massive quantity of fly life, this year has seen the same problem on many lochs and fisheries and can only be associated with the climate change which is happening, trout are cold water fish and do not like this warming up, anglers want to catch using dry and wet flies, but this year some reluctantly have been forced to use buzzers one such gentleman on Sunday morning was using a black buzzer after many years as a fly fisher, not to happy, but having to rethink his techniques he managed fine, Graham McMullen on Saturday after noon, during the brightest of sunshine caught 3 for 6lbs using a hopper, father and son P and J Feakins, Auchtermucty had 4 for 8.5 lbs using a bibio and a pheasant tailed nymph, Jim and Audrey Brown from Cupar only fishing for a couple of hours managed 3 for 7lbs and Audrey getting the biggest fish on an ace of spades, Catch and release is still suspended until the water temperature drops down further or we have a substantial rainfall, last year at this time it had rained for 4 days on top of many wet days before that, so there are some dramatic changes in this season that is affecting the fishing lochs.
