Week ending 18/07/05 goldenloch
Goldenloch Fishing has at last returned to normal with fish being caught in all areas, the problem with the algae has at last gone, it has however left a brownish haze in certain parts of the loch but this is improving daily, visibility has improved dramatically and the fish are responding to dry flies, evening rises are not like they were in the past few years but it is happening and fish are getting caught, however with the extraordinary hot spell that we are currently experiencing, we have suspended catch and release fishing as the fish are struggling to recover, especially after a hard fight with an angler, with some anglers unhappy with our decisions this year, it has to be said that this year is a complete boggy and that anglers are having like us, to adapt to the changing climate, our decisions are made for the benefit of the fish and not the angler, if we are supplying quality fishing then anglers have to abide by our rules. Getting good catches this week were Simon Hodge, Perth 4 for 8lbs using a buzzer, Mr S Wilson, Glenrothes, having his best day ever for years 3 for 15 lbs using an olive damsel, and his pal m Davidson 3 for 6lbs using a buzzer, W Suttie, S Feakins and W Mackie fishing from the bank were more than happy with 2 each using dry flies, these lads were just out to enjoy the ambiance and surroundings of a quiet nights fishing and were off the water by 9
