Week ending 11/07/05 goldenloch
Fishing at the Goldenloch has improved dramatically now that the Algae has gone, the management congratulate themselves on being able to treat this condition so effectively and with the water oxygen back to normal for this time of year the fishing has resumed as normal, Water clarity is about 2 to 3 feet and the temperature is 18 degrees, what we cant control is the sun, this year it is brighter and hotter than ever before, the fish are very active early morning and into the mid parts of the day and on days that cloud over good catches easily archived, evening fishing depends on what the preceding afternoon has been like, if the water has been heated by the bright sun then expect the evening rise to be very late as it takes till darkness not sunset for the fish to feel comfortable, with global warming being discussed by many who would have thought that here in North Fife it would have an impact, but definitely we are in a much warmer period in this season than ever before, Catches this week are Mr Kettles, Perth, 3 for 6lbs using a Hares ear and Alexandria, Mr Bill McCraw, Coaltown, 3 for 6lbs, 2 returned using buzzers and S Hamilton and D Wilson from Linwood, fishing on a day ticket, 4 each for 20lbs, both lads having a great time and using very small nymphs had their best fishing day this season.
Bookings are being taken for the season by phone on 01337840412 or email to info@goldenloch.co.uk
Yours sincerely: John Nicol. Goldenloch.
