Week ending 07/02/05 goldenloch maximum catches
At the Goldenloch anglers are getting good value with nearly everybody getting maximum catches beginners with proper guidance and help are also getting the right results from the jetties Master Stephen Holmes with his Uncle both from Livingstone had 3 for a total of 8.5lbs using a Diawl Bach and a Damsel, Stephen having his third outing was over the moon as this was his first ever catch, also from the jetty was Stuart Wilson Buckhaven who waiting for a boat to free up managed 2 brownies and 1 rainbow all returned before he caught 3 for 9lbs and had returning a total of 7, John Hatton in his usual jetty position had 7 all returned and Andy Brown Broxburn had 8 all returned, With the water seemingly quite warm for this time of year the fish can be seen on the surface when the sun ducks behind a cloud whether or not they are looking for feeding is for the individuals to decide, trying to guess what exactly they are looking for is not as easy as you would think, one angler decided to try all sorts of different brightly coloured flies and combinations assuming that the fish would take anything that was on the surface alas the only fly that worked was a Diawl Bach.
