Week ending 17/01/05 goldenloch a bit stormy
In the 20 or so years that the Goldenloch has been in operation as a fishery water levels have never been so high as they were last week, and on probably it wettest day 2 hardy anglers from Glenrothes were out trying to fish amazingly both caught 3 fish, however it seemed like an eternity for us as we were having to watch constantly in case of any mishaps, on their arrival back on shore the 2 chirpy lads, both admitted to being mad and desperate to fish as they had been working every weekend since before xmas, other anglers on more normal days have had good results Master S Grierson, St Andrews with a new rod from Santa caught 3 from the Jetties for 7lbs he was accompanied by Mr A Grierson and Mr R McElney his tutors for the day and they had 3 for 5lbs all the fish were caught using a Yellow Dancer, which very much seems to be the right fly just now as the water is very stirred up and a little murky, Mr Bob Cox from Dundee had 4 for 9lbs using a damsel fly he also spent the day fishing from the Jetties, Mid-day to early afternoon can be a bit harder just now as the wind gets up and the temperature drops, however Mr S Valentine and Mr J Dick, both Dundee arriving at 12 managed 4 for 8lbs using floating lines and a small green and black dry fly, fantastic days sport was the comment.
