Week ending 11/01/05 goldenloch
The first two weeks of 2005 at the Goldenloch have been extremely windy however anglers have not been put of by the conditions and the fishing has been excellent, Steve Smart, Strathmiglo fishing from the bank had 5 all returned reporting that the fish were in tip top condition, Steve McCarthy Lochore had an early morning start and using a Montana caught 4 returning all, before the wind made it impossible to continue, like most anglers Steve did not mind the torrential rain but high blustery wind just spoiled his day, Jim Wilson, Dalgety Bay from the bank had 4 all returned with one a gorgeous 3lb blue trout and another a 1lb brown Jims comments were that for January the fishing was superb, The new lodge is now certainly a big asset, as anglers can warm up in comfort with a heater and microwave to heat pies etc, making good use of this were pensioners Jim and Dave, from Perth, both lads arriving on a fabulously calm day saw a complete turnaround in the weather and within an hour were having to run to the lodge for shelter, not going to have their day spoiled the two hardy lads were in and out, off and on the loch all day and eventually caught 6 fish for 16lbs, we only use floating lines with small flies when ever we come here was the comment great day.
