Week ending 09/11/04 goldenloch, good sport
Hard work fishing at the Goldenloch, with the warmer weather and clear water anglers saw loads of fish moving on the surface and all over the loch, finding what they were feeding on however proved very difficult for some but when an angler got it right the rewards were outstanding one such lucky lad was Mr Montgomery, Kirkcaldy using a black and red buzzer size 18 in combination with a small black muddler he just got into a good spot and caught fish with nearly every cast, spreading the news to the other anglers soon saw glum faces change to happy faces and then all started to catch however the wind dropped and a bright sun stopped everything for almost two hours when the sun went down the fish had switched to small lures as the temperature had dropped by some 8 degrees, Very noticeable in the last few weeks have been the very small brown trout that have been getting caught with all getting returned it is obvious that these fish have been breed in the loch and are going to provide a good foundation breeding stock as during this winter we are introducing a large quantity of 1st generation stock browns this is so the loch next year will provide an even better sporting fish.
