Week ending 01/11/04 goldenloch thanks for the warmer weather
Anglers first question on arriving at the Goldenloch is usually enquiring as to what fly pattern has been working for others in the past week, however with the warmer weather and higher air pressure we have seen the return of anglers using dry flies and floating lines with some anglers getting excellent results from spiders and hoppers, green and black skinny buzzers have also been successful more so from the boats as the bank anglers have been getting a huge amount of fun using muddlers and small nymphs or in one case a black tadpole. Well worth a mention was Mr Mario Polse, Ladybank on his usual days outing with Clifford getting good sport fishing using an Orange Fritz Mario had several offers and lost fish before landing a rainbow that fought for it life with huge tail and fins this 3lb trout gave Mario the best fight he has ever had. Mr K Thom, St Andrews had 3 for 8lbs using damsels and Pete Wood Star had a 4.5lb rainbow using a mini buzzer, John Hatton Kirkcaldy using Montana’s had 8 all returned from the boat jetty and Mr Brian Stewart Dundee had 3 for 8.5lbs returning 6 all on small dry flies mostly hoppers Using a yellow dancer and a viva Mr Hughes Leslie had 3 for 7.5lbs returning 4 he had split his time between the boat and bank getting the best from his afternoons fishing, Beginner Miss Alison Westwood, Glenrothes, on purchasing her starter kit on the internet arrived for her first ever days fishing and left with 2 rainbows for 4lbs thanking everyone for all the advice and help in her days achievements.
