Week ending 18/10/04 goldenloch
Happy anglers at the Goldenloch, since the end of the hurricanes last month and the resulting air pressure lift, fish have been feeding frantically all over the loch, catches are fantastic with everyone exceeding their limits mostly on olive damsels but many anglers are still getting fun using floating lines and dry flies, hoppers spiders etc, and with the schools on holiday last week several youngsters enjoyed their first ever catches Ross Cameron age 7.Leven caught on his own 2 rainbows for 4.5lbs and a brownie which was returned, Colin Shepard, Dundee had 4 for 10lbs and Miss Mary Tysland, Stirling age 8 using a Muddler buzzer combination had 3 for 9lbs. Mr Dave Wilson Kettle and Mr W Russell Markinch arriving late in the afternoon on Friday managed 3 each using Muddlers, both lads never thought for a minute they would have so much fun with fish following their flies and lost strikes as did Mr J Brown from Cellardyke unable to get a boat he and his friend Mr W Gray from Pittenweem went on the bank for a while until a boat was free, within minutes of this decision the fish started to rise right in front of them and both were treated to some outstanding fishing, best being 4.5lbs needles to say when the boat was freed neither angler took up that option, The bank fishing has definitely yielded the most fish this past 2 weeks with every angler that has used the jetties commenting that the fish seem to be working just a few feet in front of them Mr Dave Swinley and Renton fishing on a day ticket were in hysterics as large fish were cruising right next to them and the lads were just enjoying the moments as they fished in the warm air with the whole day to absorb the atmosphere.
