Week ending 11/10/04 goldenloch better weather better fishing
A much better weeks weather at the Goldenloch has produced some superb fishing, Anglers are being treated to fish feeding on the surface again taking very small flies, olive damsels have been working well but the demon fly seems to be the small black hopper, floating lines and light casts due to the crystal clear calm water have produced some of the best catches of the season, Mr T Craig, Glenrothes had 3 for 11lbs using dry flies and a floating line and on the same day at the other end of the loch Stewart Fenton and Craig McKenzie Markinch both had 3 fish for 6.5lbs using damsels, fantastic fishing great challenge, on the same day using a gold headed damsels father and son Messer’s Ganley, Kinross on two separate visits each time had 6 fish for over 12lbs both lads having great fishing and having loads of fun with offers and lost fish, At the Goldenloch this year on her second sitting our swan after getting the cob removed has successfully reared 9 signets she and her youngsters have been a huge source of amusement to the anglers as learning to fly has produced many forced landings and aborted takeoffs now she has left for warmer weather, lets hope they get to Africa and back safely.
