Week ending 13/09/04 goldenloch very windy but fish are feeding
Wild wet windy weather at the Goldenloch for the past few days has meant that only the dedicated anglers were out fishing, with feeding fish competing with the swallows and swifts for the emerging larvae anglers were treated to the fish diving and crashing through the waves to get to the flies, Mr Stewart Fenton, Markinch had 3 for 7lbs and returned a further 4 all on olive flies, Also on the loch were 6 lads from Strathmiglo, who between them had 16 fish for 35lbs, mostly taken on small Scottish wets and buzzers, great sport and fantastic fighting fish, however last week on the calmer days Mr M Dickie, Ladybank had 3 for 12lbs with one weighing at over 6lbs all caught on a hares ear, still using dry flies with great success Mr Steve Smart, Strathmiglo had 8 and a few brownies all around the 1.5lb mark that were returned safely to the loch, With the water gin clear anglers on calm days are having to use very light lines so as not to frighten the fish as they cast having a great success from the bank was Mr G Evans Prestonpans, using John Clark micro flies and a very light line he had 9 all returned, and a huge amount of interested fish following and chasing his flies, great sport was his comment. With the water temperature now dropping and the water crystal clear some excellent sport fishing should be had, as we have all tried to readjust to the weirdest summers that have happened over the last few years.
