Just plain good fishing giving loads of fun
Goldenloch anglers are again finding the fishing hard work as the temperature both of the water and atmosphere are rising with the warmer front that has moved across the country, fish are moving in all parts of the loch and can be seen clearly just below the surface Bank anglers are treated to the fish swimming past them at their feet and following their flies as they cast over the fish as they break the surface, with some lads getting catches on small Kate McLarens and Diawl bachs, Mr Mike Hill, Starthmiglo had 3 for 7lbs and returned 5 using a Black hopper and a Claret suspender buzzer, and Mr Stewart Milne, Glenrothes had 3 for 7lbs using a skinny buzzer, really pleased with his catch and of the fish he lost after the numerous takes he annoyed his partner for the day as he had blanked, however both lads really enjoyed themselves as the weather was glorious, Messer’s Fulton, Wilson and Hamilton, had an evening to remember one night as the now early setting sun gave a very dark setting fish just rose everywhere feeding on whatever was on the surface this had not happened for a few days and the lads just were in the right place at the right time getting most of their catches on sedge flies the boys had 3 each and returned a few to fight another day, With most anglers now poised waiting for the cooler weather fisheries like ourselves have the usual tasks of the weed control to keep us busy, a great success this year for the Goldenloch has been the treatment that has disabled the weed stem strength and allowed the weeds to grow on the loch floor creating a micro world for the insect life it has also given to the fish a place to shelter under with very few anglers complaining about the weeds this year it is a system that we will use again.
