Week ending 16/08/04 goldenloch, fishing should now really improve
Another really crazy week at the Goldenloch with the weather playing the biggest part, anglers were flooded on Monday and Tuesday as the loch level just rose and rose, catches in these conditions were however good as the fish seemed to enjoy the fresh water, Mr and Mrs Scougal, Milnathort and the two boys suitably attired, went out when the weather abated one evening and had a great night with loads of offers and lost fish ending up with 6 for 16 lbs, Day anglers were scarce this week mostly due to the weather however for those that did venture out catches were good at the far end of the loch and off the bank next to the jetties, It has however taken the loch 3 or 4 days to return to normal since the foul weather stopped and only at the weekend did the fish really start feeding properly again. Getting good catches were Mr Cassels Glenrothes 8 all returned he was using muddlers and buzzers, Mr A Morgan Glenrothes 3 for 6lbs returning 4 using black hoppers, Messer’s S Fenton and A Scobie Glenrothes, had a great night with Stewart getting 3 for 7.5lbs and returning 5 and his buddy getting 3 for 6lbs returning 2, both lads using pheasant tailed nymphs, Mr Dave Lumsden Cupar fishing from the bank and boat had 3 for 7lbs returning 1 using a blue hopper and buzzer and having a really good day in the blistering sun on Sunday John Shaw, Markinch, had 4 for 11lbs returning 2 brownies which are now nearly reaching the 1 lb mark John was using buzzers something he is trying to perfect and with the very buzzers he was using felt that he has come up with a good tactic.
