Week ending 26/07/04 at the goldenloch
At the Goldenloch water oxygen levels have never been higher and the temperature steady at 16 degrees neither have varied this year and with the water now crystal clear both the fish and the anglers can see each other, bank anglers have definitely been having the best catches however and with the fish actively feeding for most of the day lots of fun has been had Mr John Spence, Collessie using only dry flies and a floating line had 8 returning all to fight again and on the neighbouring jetty, Mr Jim Wilson, Dalgety bay only managing 2 fish caught, commented that this was his best ever days fishing as he had never had so many follows and lost fish, the 5 hours fishing seemed to pass very quickly. On the boats Mr D Clark, Glenfarg using an ace of spades had 4 for 10lbs 4oz and his partner Mr Stewart also Glenfarg had 4 for 10lb 2oz. Mr D Dunn, Glenrothes braved a very windy day on Saturday and after eventually managing to get the boat to the far end of the loch where the water was well sheltered by the high Bull Rushes he caught 3 for 7lbs and lost 4 using a Montana and a muddler, well worth the effort to see so many fish cruising about was his comments, also having a great days fishing in the windy conditions was Mr B Evans visiting from Yorkshire on a day ticket he had loads of offers and lost fish from the boat but really got to grips when he moved to the bank and using small hoppers had 3 for 9lbs absolutely fantastic days fishing was his comment was like it used to be 30 years ago.
