Had to start sometime
Superb sport fishing at the Goldenloch and at last anglers have been able to use their top of the water flies with success, with the fish now moving and rising in all parts of the loch, anglers are enjoying their antics, still however having to use hooks of a very small nature, sizes 16 and 18 seem to be the preferred size, one angler using only dry sedges managed 3 for 7.5lbs from the middle jetty and lost loads, Willie Pride, Gateside caught 9 all returned with 2 being brownies and one rainbow at approx 5lbs all using diawl bachs and dry sedge, Mr B Donald using a cul de cunard size 16 had 3 for 7lbs and exclaimed that he had never seen so many fish before that were so fly sensitive while he was on the water all else had failed him then on getting the fly they wanted he had 3 within minutes, Daddies and hoppers were out on Sunday and Mr R Evans, Cumbria had 3 and returned 3 for 8lbs his partner Miss L Chiskow, East Germany had 3 for 7lbs using Damselfly and CDC dry sedge, her comment was that where she comes from all have to be returned to preserve stocks, visiting on a daily basis are the two ospreys that live nearby and boy are they by far the best anglers this year with one getting 2 fish on nearly every trip, wild life on the loch has never been so large and its encouraging to see that the swallow numbers are up as well as the bats in the evenings.
