Week ending 10/05/04
goldenloch
Goldenloch anglers had it hard this last week with the bright sun and the flat calm conditions, fish were being hard to catch, Sunday however saw the first real sedge hatch and at the same time a plentiful amount of buzzers appearing in the water, Anglers were having to look for the fish as they seemed to be moving in quite large shoals, especially at the far end and the bottom corner nearest the farmhouse, A record for the Goldenloch was created on Friday afternoon with Mr Colin Jeffery, Auchtermuchty catching a 15lb rainbow using a size 16 bloodworm, he was taken down to the backing 3 times and then aided by Jim Wilson managed after an hour to land his catch which would barley fit into his net the fish which was magnificent with huge tail, fins and bright underbelly has obviously had a very healthy life for the last 3 or 4 years and gave Colin the best fight ever, other catches of note were Mr Spence, Letham, who caught and returned 9 all from the middle jetty using a mini green and black fritz and Mr Jim Horsborgh, Kirkcaldy who had 5 early Sunday morning returning all he was using a green buzzer, Alec Wilson another early morning man also had 5 using green and black buzzers.
