Week ending 12/04/04
A big change in the weather at the Goldenloch this past week, and the fish have responded by being on or just under the surface, this situation had the knock on effect with some anglers that are desperate to move into summer mode and use their hoppers and daddies, however the fish weren’t going to be fooled and just preferred to take buzzers and traditional wet flies Mr J Simpson from Perth with his son had a great time from the bank with both getting a fish on their first casts unfortunately both were so surprised at this accomplishment that they both lost their catches after good fights, at the end of their session both had 3 fish and both had returned 3, Mr Alex Wilson, Glenrothes starting at 6 am had a great start to his day and saw the fish starting to move actively from 7 onwards with his bag filled quickly he then just casually fished returning the fish as and when he caught, whilst the new bank on the west side is very underused especially at the point, on Saturday it seemed very much the place to be, Mr D Wright, Somerset in Scotland on business was looking for some quiet peaceful fishing, he managed to get himself into the fantastic predicament of catching a fish with every cast never having been so lucky, his catches ranged from 7oz brown fingerlings to a whopping 5or 6 lb blue trout, the flies he was using were Montana’s and Pheasant tails on his departure this normally vacant spot was very quickly occupied by another who using lures only managed to catch the fence behind him.
