January fishing at its best
January fishing at the Goldenloch has never been as good as it is this year with the fish rising and taking flies on or just below the surface, some fishermen have been getting to grips with their new flies that have been tied in the past few months, and experimenting with floating and sinking lines, using a mini black fritz and something not unlike a blood worm, A Wilson, Glenrothes had 3 for 9lbs 7oz and B Miekle, Pitlessie caught 5 returning 4 using an olive buzzer, Stewart Fenton, Markinch caught 2 for 4lbs 4oz using again a mini black fritz. With the water level now at its maximum and the flow through the loch high, water clarity is excellent allowing anglers to catch fish in all parts of the loch, from the jetties anglers have had some fantastic fun, Mr Steve Smart, Strathmiglo, had a great day when he managed 6 all returned using small Vivas and hares ears, equally pleased was Mr J Wilson Dalgety Bay using a consett budgie managing 4 all returned.
