Ice has melted
Fishing has resumed at the Goldenloch now that the Ice has melted, 3 hardy anglers waited on the morning of 6th January as the wind rose to break the already thinned ice and it was well worth the wait, fish eager to see the skies again were tempted by Vivas and Hares ears, getting on to the loch first was Mr John Calliston Jnr, Coaltown of Balgonie, catching 3 for 7lbs and returning 6 all on his home tied Christmas tree specials, Mr Garry Cameron, Bankfoot, returned 11 using Vivas and a Montana, Pensioners Mike Richardson and Mr D Duke, Carnoustie, both eager to start their new years fishing arrived on a very cold and windy day a little hesitant about going fishing however within minutes were catching fish and went on to have probably one of their best ever days fishing, with no apparent reason for catching fish so easily both of these retired gents have now got renewed confidence for their angling abilities and have great plans for 2004, From the Bank anglers have equally had a huge success with Mr Jim Wilson, Dalgety Bay, 2 for 5lbs, returning a further 5 and Mr Steven Smart, Strathmiglo catching 4 excellent rainbows and 1 blue of approx 7lbs returning all back to fight another day.
