Week ending 29/08/05 goldenloch
With the recent fall of heavy rain, fishing at the Goldenloch has improved dramatically; the first most visible effect was that the fish are now actively moving around on the surface, possibly due to the water temperature being much cooler as it has now dropped to 16 degrees, the fish which all season have been cruising just under the surface making large bow waves are now jumping for and taking flies, It has this summer been an excellent sporting time for anglers with the fly patterns being used nearly always including a Dunkeld or a Diawl Bach, Hoppers and spiders running a close second, nearly everyone fishing has caught something, the exceptions being those who stuck with lures and large flies, most fish this year have been caught at the far end of the loch and down the side next to the jetties, we have made a new hard standing at the far south west corner as this seemed to be a favourite spot for catching fish and although not quite finished, is giving some a good sporting spot, notably Mr Mackie from Dunshalt who caught 3 in a reasonably short space of time, catches this week include, Jim Horsburgh, Kirkcaldy, he had 3 for 6lbs returning 6 to fight again, Mark Hill Strathmiglo 3 for 6lbs also returning 3 and the lads from Glenfarg angling club having to fight the wind but really enjoying the sport catching fish immediately upon getting on the water.
