Week ending 15/08/05 goldenloch
The Sun is back shining as bright as ever at the Goldenloch, however the water temperature because of the cooler evenings is static at around 20 degrees, the effect on the fishing is that the mornings are fishing excellent and up till around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, the fish are moving on the surface especially at the far end of the loch giving anglers really good sport, the bigger and older fish are now moving about with several fish being caught in the 4 to 5 lb bracket, Evening fishing was harder last week and some anglers struggled to get fish especially with the large Cannes hatches that were occurring, This season has to be the weirdest ever for anglers as they are having to adapt to the quickly changing habits of the fish and the individual waters that the live in, however one thing is for sure at the Goldenloch the flies that are getting the right results are the old tried and tested ones. Mr Pitcairn Dunfermline 3 for 6lbs on a Diawl Bach, Mr Mark Hill Strathmiglo 3 for 6lbs on a Pheasant Tailed Nymph, Mr Jim Paton Auchtermuchty 3 for 9 lbs with 1 at 5lbs using Invictas, and Master David Kyle Rossie 1 for 1.75lbs on a hares ear.
