Goldenloch
July-20th–Week 26-2015
This week has seen some absolutely brilliant fishing with loads being caught on proper dry flies, old fashioned stuff, proper fishing flies, yet many continue to use lures and some of the more modern flies, this week an angler has inadvertently left a rather substantial fly collection here by accident, and in it, cause I had a look to see if there was any way I could identify the owner of this huge collection, was a very brightly coloured, DOUBLE HOOK SNAKE, now it was wet which shows that it had been used, Please do not use these here we do not allow there use, NO SNAKES, NO DOUBLE HOOKS, it really isn’t necessary, yesterday was a day without wind which makes the fishing a little bit harder, however as an artificial stimulant I kept the fountain on all day, much to the pleasure of Messrs Fraser, Fenton and Bruce who not only enjoy relaxing in a boat but after just a few years between them have become quite good at this Fly fishing hobby and had approx 30 fish between them, pretty good for a day with no wind, however the previous day had been gusty and although not nearly as bad as has been forecast, it gave way to some excellent fishing, Father and sons Robert Anderson, Edinburgh, up at the golf popped in on their way home, and with one light travelling rod being shared between them had 7, not bad for an hours fishing, we need wind the Algae has now reached the stage where it is on the surface albeit only on a small part of the loch but it is unsightly we are raking it in but its had work without wind.
