Goldenloch april-27th –week 15-2015
Better weather makes it a lot more fun fishing and with the water much clearer and fish now moving at all depths and in all areas, the fishing has taken on a whole new atmosphere, anglers are getting fish basically on flies that they enjoy using, Thursday past saw five cracking fish all caught on dry flies, black / green, also another catching from the bank using the smallest of nymphs, with the fish well and truly off blobs and lumps which basically imitate feeding pellets they are having to feed and recognise small insects and nymphs etc, this is making for some good sport fishing Friday Saturday and Sunday probably saw some of the best weather this year and was not what the forecasters had predicted, Sunday was a bit blustery towards the end of the day but nevertheless very enjoyable, with Alan Gibson getting 8 very quickly on nymphs of the bank 3 at over 4lbs Friday saw several fish caught in all areas one chap only out for a couple of hours in the evening which was the first gloriously warm evening this year had 5, Saturday saw a group of scouts here and although more interested in tadpoles and newts which we seem to have an abundance of they still managed to catch a few trout and a lot of wind knots, and jackets being caught, we insist here that all beginners and anyone under 16 wear eye protection, we keep 50 sets of proper eye protector, goggles, for all to use as well as 30 self inflating life jackets everyone going on a boat are advised to wear a jacket, it is for your own protection and safety.
