Goldenloch april-13th –week 15-2015
So back to wind and cold but the water cleared spectacularly on Saturday, not sure why but we had a slight discolouration in the water which I felt was making the fishing just a tad slow, however the wind and rain cleared all away, the fishing has responded to fish being caught mostly on buzzers and nymphs at about two to three feet in depth, Friday was slow in that the average bag size was about 4 maybe 5 yet the next day it was 8 > 9 amazing, but it was cold, Saturday was a weird day not hot not cold yet everything else, Sunday morning saw waves everywhere and with a group of more elderly gents arriving the decision was taken to abandon the days fishing on health reasons, not their health but mines with the wind blowing hard in large gusts from the east and none of them having electric motors, I had visions of spending half the day going back and forward pulling boats from the far end of the loch, so I pointed them in the direction of another fishery, which they all agreed with me that going out in boats was not a good idea, an east wind here is not a good wind for bank fishing anyways by afternoon the wind had died completely and it was a good 5 degrees warmer, but what was good was probably the first real fly hatch of the season, nice to see fish up sucking and turning flies, one gent from Lochgelly catching 5 all returned safely, and a beautiful evening sunset to boot.
