Goldenloch april-06th –week 14-2015
Well that’s probably the best weekend for a long time, the fishing was excellent in the mornings, but it got a wee bit harder as the days progressed, mostly due to the sun being so bright, and then it really picked up each evening, a lot of faces that were venturing out for the first time this year, and a few new faces, but what makes it special was the nice warm breeze on your face and arms, there was still, just a little hint of a chill now and again though and I do believe that there would have been a lot more fish rising had that breeze not been coming out the East, catches were good and some lads had some amazing fish. Fishing with his now nearly grown up son was D Redgrave, Westbank Auchtermuchty, and his best catch was a rather well formed 9.5lb rainbow, as our regular stocking is fish up to 2.5lbs we can only assume that this fish has been lurking about for quite a wee while, with his son catching I as well, it was a good day, N Farrell and friends did outstandingly well considering the hilarity that could be heard from the boats with 10 between them, Ewan and Deryk Angus, Glenfarg, 4 for the boat with one at 3.5lbs, But the best winners was the lads that just came for the peace and quite, it was really nice yesterday in the sun, just a very light breeze, peace and quiet and all that could be heard was the splashing of fish jumping and ducks diving, the swishing of lines, the birds chirping a woodpecker in the far distant background, no cars or lorries trundling past.
