Goldenloch sept -22-, week 37, 2014
Wowser the fishing has really changed in the past week, it has become very selective, week three and moving into week 4 of very little wind and with calm or near calm conditions and huge variations in air pressure every day, so the fish are or rather are a bit confused, sometimes on the surface feeding or just under, but fish are being caught, some anglers doing very well, however, yesterday saw Brian Dewar and friend catch 11 between them, at night father and son Robert and Ryan Inglis, Cardenden, catching 9 between them, getting most on yellow dancers, and the rise at around 8 was again massive as it was the night before, we put in a big load of really cracking brownies, basically just to give anglers a really nice fish to catch, these browns are 1.5lbs to 3 lbs and are diploids and are a mixture of Jacks and Hens, they are just beauties, these are for the pot for those that wish, however its back to the same old thing if you don’t need to kill then please don’t, I am still bewildered as to why some people kill unwantingly, twice this past weekend, fish have been dumped by anglers, these are not small fish by any means and I suspect that they are selectively picked and then killed, it is just not necessary but is it because they pay there money they must get there monies worth, we buy the best fish that are available and would like to think that anglers appreciate that, we supply soft nets for use again its to protect the fish, we ask that anglers dip nets and sterilise them due to not bringing in parasites from other lochs all this to ensure that the fishing here is good so please think if you don’t wish to kill then please ask for a sporting ticket and don’t kill just for the sake of it. So who else has been catching James Johnstone, Leven had 4, all returned, Both Brian Kemp, Glenrothes and Allan Burke, East Lothian managed to save their honours in catching a fish on a really hard day and Ronnie Forsyth returning 2, Alan Hyndman doing well with 2 for 4lbs returning 5 all on dry flies so the fishing doing OK at the Moment.
