Goldenloch september 30 week 37
Another month has past and we still have not had much rain, its now been since April that we have not had any top up rain, that’s the first year its been like this since 1985, OK we have had rain and showers, which have been good enough to replenish the oxygen levels, but the water level has been dropping steady now at about a couple of inches every week for months, we can now see areas that have never been seen before, the temperature of the water has however dropped by a good few degrees due to the colder weather, which in turn has made the fish much more active, the fishing is still excellent with fish showing in all areas, only this week a father and son pair had 16 fish between them and last night a young beginner had a 3lb rainbow his first ever caught from the jetty, the weed problem is slowly going away thanks now to the much colder weather and our efforts in pulling out big chunks using a wire rope have been successful, we had tried to compost this weed but as it has come out of water the smell that comes from the rotting weed was disgusting, so its now gone, one thing I forgot to mention in our new prices from now is, that we have kept the sporting ticket or Catch and Release ticket at £15, this remains the same as it has been this price for a good few years now, it is our most popular ticket, for the next season we will be introducing as well as using our loyalty cards, pensioner days or rather senior citizen days, they will probably be Monday or a Wednesday so as not to clash with the same idea on another fishery, prices for these days are not fixed yet but will they be on a par with other fisheries.
