Goldenloch july 08 week 25
Well a big weekend of sport and well done to Andy Murray for winning Wimbledon, its good to see a Scotsman doing well he made the whole country joyous, with the game fair and the German GP on as well, I suppose we did well getting the anglers we got, however it was again a quiet weekend but the fishing was superb, especially from the bank with some lads getting into double figures with their catches, floating lines and either a midge tip or a sinking leader attached to traditional Scottish Wet flies are what’s working best, however some lads have done very well using just buzzers, two young lads on Saturday had a very successful day using lures although limited in where they could use them due to underwater weed they had 5 each and were delighted with their catches, even in the brightest of days Sunday being by far the sunniest this year fish are being caught Sunday morning was spectacular from 7am the sun just beat down and it was a hot sun Tommy Harrower, Kent on holiday with his parents arrived and using dry flies only had 4 all from the boat jetty fishing in amongst the boats, his theory being that the fish would be resting in the shadows of the boats how right he was, last week saw a couple of the bigger fish we have in the loch being hooked played then lost, these fish of which there are quite a few now refuse to be caught and seem to be very powerful and are able to break free from anglers attempts at catching them, it is without a doubt that the fish this year are growing well and have benefited from the easier winter and cooler spring, it’s now up to the anglers to catch them.
