Goldenloch may 27/ 2013 week 19
For those that read my reports I try to always write about something that is topical and happening here at the Goldenloch, this week there have been a couple of interesting events, we have this year three or four visiting ospreys and I am really not to happy about it, young osprey seemingly do not start to breed till they are about 3 or 4 years old and you can see why this is, in watching there feeble attempts to catch trout, daily we are given an armature aerobatics display not only by these birds but also the crows and jackdaws that are hell-bent on trying to beat them up, only this morning one of these young birds was forced to give up and head back to the Tay for sea trout because of far too many crows, what gets me is that they fly over Lindores Loch to get to me and they don’t seem to bother with the recently stocked fish there, The fishing is improving daily with the better weather but it has still been really weird with some days being really fantastic and other day’s anglers finding it hard, its nothing else other than the weather, as on Saturday past was witnessed by two hardy lads after a bright very sunny afternoons fishing with just 1 or 2 in the bag a coffee break and then returning to fish for a further couple of hours they were met with the water bubbling with fish latterly hundreds and hundreds of fish rising all over the water, it didn’t matter were you were you would be beside fish rising, we have this year got the return of this horrible blanket algae but after the lessons of the previous years evnts we are tackling it a more positive way it behave like a weed and anglres think it is however it is very easy to remove and Sunday saw my trusty helper Tam and I shift a large area, whilst doing this we disturbed the loch bottom and were amazed by the insect life that was disturbed trillions of tadpoles beetles shrimp Etc were seem tumbling in the water as we pulled out this weed with wire ropes, no wonder the fish aren’t that hungry.
