Goldenloch april 29/ 2013 week 15
The last few days at the Goldenloch has seen some pretty good fishing and some pretty startling catches, with some lads getting into the teens, and its just because the temperature warmed up and the horrible nasty wind dropped, which was causing all the grief, heralding the start of summer yesterday, Sunday, saw Barry’s angling club arriving nice and early, using all the boats they went onto the water and they did well, fishing for a three fish limit, nearly everyone caught their catch, its just what everyone needed this year, a little warmth and some sun to make the fishing just that little bit more pleasant, its all about enjoying a days fishing, people laugh when you hear someone say its not about catching fish its all about just enjoying a days sport, of course its nice to be catching lots of fish, but its equally pleasant to be just enjoining the ambience of being part of nature, years ago I was once told by an old angler, it’s a great feeling catching your first fish, and its equally as thrilling getting a double, then its all about getting that elusive big one, that’s why every fishery in that land always stock some big fish, only last week, we had a lad catch a 8.5lb rainbow, getting lots of fish in a short space of time seem to do it for some guys and then they expect that every time they go fishing, but to be able to really enjoy going out for a days enjoyable fishing is equally as hard as finding some thing that’s lost, firstly you need to have a free day or the need for one, then its getting the weather to match that day and then its finding a place that you need to fill the ambition for your days sport fishing, we try to provide that, but the most important and I think the hardest thing to provide, is in allowing you the angler freedom to enjoy what you want to do, its then up to you to catch a fish of two, my dad who passed away years ago always said the Goldenloch is a place for relaxing and enjoying fishing never change that and people will appreciate its tranquillity.
