Goldenloch january 21 / 2013 week 03
Ice, snow, wind, cold, freezing, all happening at the Goldenloch just now, the boats are out of the water, but its still exciting here, the cormorants are obviously very, very hungry, as there are several up in the trees and one sitting on a bale of straw, out in the loch, I assume, waiting on the ice melting, I’ve never seen them here whilst we have had ice, makes me think that the weather out in the sea must be really bad, Scottish Water are making life very interesting just now, it seems that I have not got a business account with them, their business system was introduced in 2008, seemingly in a flurry of advertising and mail drops, yet no one told me about it, yet a phone call from them informs me that I am breaking their regulations and as such need to have an account to pay for the vast volume of water that the toilet and tap for the kettle use, transpires they want £1400 for a one off connection and 4 annual payments of £156 = £624 / year. I have written a very polite letter to them explaining that we will no longer need or require to use their water, so from now on we will like many other fisheries seemingly, be using the loch or harvested rainwater, which is a commodity we seem to have plenty of, this for the toilet, as for the kettle, well we will just have to bring the water down from the house, its al so silly and totally unnecessary, but due to events and regulations this is what will be happening now.
