Goldenloch august 13 / 2012 week 33
Its more or less back to normal at the Goldenloch after a traumatic start to the year, however the fishing is still a tad difficult, its nothing we have done, the fish numbers are good, the water is reasonably clear, weather conditions are a bit varied but mostly dry, but the fish however are not playing ball, they seem to be lying on the loch floor just doing nothing, sometimes if the sun is high enough and the water still you can see to the bottom in the side shaded by the boat and fish are just lying not moving even when prodded by an oar they don’t go far, however it is very definite that there are a lot more fish lying in the margins than out in the loch, mornings and late evenings are best with the hardest time being between 11am and 5pm, we were busy this past weekend with 18 complete beginners all fishing from the bank, they were getting our starter lesson and with 11 catching fish, with 2 others losing a fish and one of the beginners catching 2, it was a pretty good result for them, nearly every fish caught however seem to be getting caught by using one of Tams flies, however it was glorious weather and some especially the ladies just enjoyed the surroundings, and relaxing in the sunshine.
