Goldenloch april 30 / 2012 week 18
So much for good weather, it’s been blowing a cold East wind for the last three days; it has affected the fishing but not nearly as much as I would have imagined it to have done, most if not all have caught fish and in quite reasonable quantities, a lot of the fish coming of this week seem to have been in the 2.5 > 3 lb size, fully finned with the odd one having a few marks from the winter cormorants which makes me think that these fish are mostly the overwintered fish that are now starting to look for food, very small yellow dancers and bright Diawl Bachs are doing the trick , with a weeks worth of weed clearing the loch is a lot better for anglers the long bank is now completely clear as is the bottom end the far side and round the weed beds are now clear of this annoying blanket weed, it seems that it just decided due to the early season warm weather to rise to the surface on the plus side it has allowed new areas to have good fly hatches, as it is quite definite that anglers are having some rather good sport fishing with several lads over the past few days commenting that catches were being made using buzzers and a lot of the older style nymphs, it has taken a few days to clear the loch of weed and with the water getting stirred up by us it has clouded the water, also the very heavy rain from the past week did not help things, this should now settle and allow some rather good fishing, lets all hope that the weather warms up a little which will improve the fishing immensely.
