Goldenloch mar-29-10
Another pretty hard week at the Goldenloch and its definitely the cold weather that’s causing it, twice in the last seven days we have had warm afternoons and the fishing has just come alive, however most of the week has seen bitter cold winds, catches for most people have been got but it has been slow and anglers are definitely having to work for them, generally though everyone is having a really good time, the fish are there its just trying to find the right method and flies to entice them out, this morning Monday 29th however is a flat calm with fish rising everywhere and this is the day when we are supposed to get snow and high wind, Sunday saw a tough day but some did very well B Collins, Kirkcaldy had 2 on a bloodworm and returned 2 as did James Leslie Scone, A Burns Kirkcaldy and R Arnot fishing for his first ever time had a particularly good day but it was late on after 4 and the fish were starting to feed Burns catching 7 and Arnot getting his first ever on a cormorant fly, another successful angler was Master Ewan Angus, age 7, Perth, getting his first ever fish, fishing with his father they persevered for quite a while at the same spot as they must have seen this fish lurking about and it won through for them as the youngster caught and landed the fish singlehanded, Saturday wasn’t quite as cold as Sunday and nearly everyone caught fish but they had to work hard for them, the guys fro Elmwood enjoyed their day but it would have been so much better had the sun come out to warm up the water which is what happened in the late afternoon, Don Stewart, Glasgow and John Gray, Auchtermuchty had 12 each, both chaps having another great days fishing.
