Goldenloch mar-01-10
The Goldenloch is now Ice free and the past few days have been slightly warmer in the mornings than in the afternoons and as a result people that have arrived to fish from 8 or 9 on have done very well, the weather here at the weekend was glorious however we believe that only 5 miles south into Glenrothes and beyond their has been heavy snow, but for those that have managed to get here they have been rewarded by some superb fishing Scott Mc Bride had 3 lovely rainbows for 7lbs using his own Rob Roy Flies, Alex Burns, Kirkcaldy had 4 for 12.5lbs using Yellow Dancers and Consett Budgies, Ray Eastwood, Bankfoot had 5 all returned as did James Harrow, Dundee. As this is now March hopefully we will start to see much better weather and yesterday while A Burns was fishing we saw what was probably the first real hatch of 2010 and fish rising to feed on hatching flies, it was flat calm and the sun had been shining for half an hour and suddenly their was a big flurry of fish feeding on the surface and just under it, we just stood and watched as it was nice to see what fly fishing is all about and the start of the fly hatches and perhaps a really good season ahead.
