A week of very mixed weather has seen the fish go down; anglers have been frustrated in the last few days due to the fact that the fish seem to have stopped coming to the surface and therefore cannot be seen needless to say for some that’s not a huge problem but for others it seems that they are convinced that there are no fish in the water, most of this problem comes from the fact that the weather is varying so much from day to day, I mean dramatic variations, one day it can be flat calm with not a breath of wind like last week and the next it can be a howling gale chucking down the rain like last Tuesday, but even stranger still was that even on a day like that at 6pm the wind died to nothing and there were fish rising everywhere, also making the fishing difficult is the temperature drops every night for the last few weeks has seen the temp fall by at least 8 degrees in fact on Saturday night it was nearly frost, usually at this time of year we just have very damp conditions and a lot of mist, haare etc, Catches however haven’t been to bad Tim Dover, Bridge of Earn, getting 2 using a muddler and A Hogben, Springfield 2 for 7lbs using a sparkler, Lyall Dick, Auchtermuchty, using a PTN 2 C & R, the boys from Leuchars D Gray and J Taylor had a really good day with 10 fish between them and a lot of fun especially as it was the first time for J Taylor.
