At the Goldenloch for a lot of anglers its starting to get a lot more interesting with the fish being much more selective in what they are wanting to eat and for some the fishing is tremendous fun, however for others its turned into a nightmare and they are going to have to learn how to adapt and change tactics to be able to catch fish, it seems that the fish in the early part of the day are lying down at the boat jetty end of the loch, and are feeding quietly all day on small spiders and airborne bugs that are being blown over the water, at this point the most successful type of fly seems to be either a CDC or a shipman’s then later in the day the fish spread out and are either in or around the weed banks or under the trees again they are tricky to catch but for some it seems effortless Graham Brailsford, Cupar and Gordon Clark, Auchtermuchty both had fantastic fishing one day and returned fish from nearly every cast they made, another lad having a great time was Andy Flavell fishing with his brother David caught 4 doubles, now I don’t mean big fish but rather he caught two fish on one cast and he did it four times that’s got to be a record, to see a little bit of that action we now have on the website a video section and what anglers can do is upload from your phone or camera any interesting or exciting happenings too youtube, then send me an email, and I will link it to the Goldenloch website, we are trying to make it interesting and informative and I am sure this will be a novel and interesting part of the website, loads of anglers are complaining about the weeds but conversely loads are having their best fishing ever, which puts us in a quandary what to do about them so I think we will attempt in the next few days to pull out large areas to try and accommodate the lads that can only catch using lures, Looking to the future we need suggestions or ideas, at the moment what we have here is pretty basic, but in the next months or so we are going to be doing some improvements to the facilities, but we need some input from you, its like a kick in the pants or a pat on the head, so please send comments of either criticism or compliments to us or things we can do, by email or by writing in the book in the lodge, we are currently looking for ways to try and improve the fishing in the future here at the Goldenloch, so as you can enjoy your time with us
