Fishing wise its not been that bad for the first week of the year, some lads doing very well, even though we haven’t stocked yet, Rod Thaw on 9 returned, Leslie Mitchell 7 using a blue black Damsel, and shipman’s Buzzers plus was only here for a few hours, Ronnie Hunter and old friend, never having fished for years arrived mid-afternoon with his buddy Billy, they went on the bank, Billy had 3 quite quickly, however Ronnie was at the top bay, he had hooked into a biggish fish, weighed in the het 3.5 Kilos, which was returned safely to fight another day, Jim Hay on a very cold Saturday had 6, Rod this time on 5 plus it was bitter cold, George Duff was out last week and returned 4, the fishing has been steady, especially when you realise that these aren’t stockies but well acclimatised fish, the loch always amazes me at this time of year as it carries so much natural feeding, only today on my arriving at 9am at the side, I could see so many rising fish covering the whole loch, its to be pretty cold again this week so we shall see what happens.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, on tranquil surroundings, plenty abundant wildlife, great fish, Tigers, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed. Phone 01337840355 or 07968006367 ask for John or look up Postcode KY14 6HZ
