Goldenloch 11/08/2008
At the Goldenloch we have seen the water level return to normal for this time of year and the fishing has improved dramatically anglers have had a great weekends sport with nearly everyone catching full bags, some lads however are still finding the late afternoons hard work especially if it a hot day as the fish are working the surface but not actually taking anything that’s presented to them, but most of the time the fish seem to be on buzzers and if yours is the right size and colour then your in for a good time, S Angus aged 9 fishing with his uncle caught and landed a 2.75lb blue trout all on his own as did Billy Grant, Livingston aged 10 who was fishing from the top landing and ended up with 4 fish, every fish was a prisoner he was not going to put any back his mother just watched, using a little silver snatcher fly given to him by an angler he was just chucking it in the water and the fish just went for it, unfortunately for him he caught a large fish which broke his cast and the fly went of in the mouth of what looked like a 5lb rainbow, Alec Wilson, Glenrothes fishing early morning on Saturday had his best day for a long time keeping 6 for 15lbs he just kept catching fish he was using buzzers and a mini fritz fly, the temperature in the loch has dropped about 4 degrees with the heavy rain, and this should encourage a lot more activity on the surface Thursday night saw what was probably the biggest fly hatch of the season with the Fife Police angling club present the opportunity to have their best nights fishing ever happened and they all came of the water with big smiles.
