Good fun fishing with the right flies
Excellent top of the water sport fishing at the Goldenloch, with the fish now active in all areas, anglers have been having great fun, some have found it extremely difficult however in having to change their techniques to fish on the surface and only by working on their casting and the frequent changing of flies they have eventually get it together and connected with the fish, but for those who have been patiently waiting for this condition their prayers have now been answered, Mr Spence, Collesie fishing from the first Jetty had 8 all carefully returned, with none under the 3lb mark he was given a really good fight from every fish, sedge and damsels with one taken on an ace of spades, Willie Pryde, Gateside and T Gordon, Cleish, had 5 each all returned using dries and enjoyed their evening of tranquillity leisurely sitting on the boat in the warm evening sun, using a black hopper G Cowan , Lundin Links had 2 for 5.5lbs and returned another 2 similar fish fantastic sport was his comment. At the Goldenloch we have a policy that first time fishers and children fish for free until they start to catch, this has brought many anglers with their children to fish, and lately these anglers have been having a lot of success, Sunday night saw Master G Urquhart, Methil age 9 catch all on his own, play and land with a little help from dad a beautiful 2 lb rainbow another beginner but not so young was Mr R Wright Milton of Balgonie who using dry flies caught 3 for 7.5lbs, “nae problem this fishin lark, and al be back the morn fur mair” was his comment after his really enjoyable evening on the boat.
