Fishery Blog, Monday, 13/11/2022.
This week, It should be tomorrow, we will probably see the last load of fish being stocked for this season, we have actually got loads of fish in the water just now, however they are just super acclimatised, they are still feeding on the surface, they are shoaling for fry bashing, it is just they are virtually impossible to catch, due mostly to the massive quantities of natural feeding on the loch floor, don’t get me wrong anglers are catching fish, but not in the numbers that they like to be catching, so the point in this load of fish, it is to up numbers being caught, but some lads still do alright Rod Thaw 6 returned, Steven Fraser 11 returned, Richard Mv Cleary 5 returned, Mark and Dave had 2, John Bowman had 7, Sandy Band 4, Bob Mitchell having a belter of a day 22 plus a Tiger, Brian Gilloway 4 with J Barlow on 2 Roy Kelly 8 commenting it should have been twice that, loads more but the common thing is that all had a great day, now as most anglers in this last year, 2022 have fished catch and release, we still get Ladies and Gents coming that have never been here before, they always ask how many to kill, some that don’t know how it works here, basically its £20 for a days Fishing, that is catch and release, if a fish is killed that’s an Extra £5.00, its boat or bank, you choose, or even you can chop and change between bank and boat, if boats are available, you can camp if you wish, the charge is £10.00 /person, we have mains water and electricity, a toilet is on site, 3 main jetties to fish from or bank if desired, life jackets are available, we would prefer that all wear one, beginners and under 14 year old fish for free, children must wear life Jackets if near the water, all fish purchased are a minimum of 1 kilo, however there are much bigger fish in the loch, a reintroduced rule for 2023, is that anglers on catching 6 fish must give up that spot, so as to allow others the opportunity to get into that sweet spot area, this rule applies to every angler fishing on any day, only other important rule is that everyone enjoys themself.
