If I were asked about weather, I would still say I preferred the roasty toasty hot days of summer to this, cold wet days, driech, with blustery winds making it feel uncomfortable, however the fishing never fails to amaze as it has now picked up again, good sized fish are being caught in all areas, angler numbers are much lower now, but that is to be expected at this time of year, nice days bring some lads out, George and Jim on Thursday, they had fish on at first cast, Lol, both doing well, at the far end of the loch there is a weed bank that has been lightly fished, it is brimming full of trout and I mean full, with several lads commenting that they have had a lot of fun there, but fishing there, well it’s not everyone’s cup of tea (so to Speak) not for the lure pullers, as they just catch weed or they catch a fish and it dives into the weed and wallop its gone, but they go there anyway, or some just stick to the spots that historically they have done well in, Bank anglers have certainly had it good this week as the fish have moved closer to the shores probably just a wee bit warmer there, Jock Souter getting or rather matching his personal best of 7, I have taken the weed boat out the water for the winter, I can now say that between it and the big winch we are all sorted for weed removal now, weed is good and fish love it, the area on the other sides where the boats are moored is to get a wall built as per my photo, the water adjacent to it has been deepened, is now over 2 meters, this will be an excellent place for restocking, Rod Thaw had another amazing day yesterday with 14, Ryan Mathieson had a cracking Large Tiger, plus 6 bows, Lewis Cumming (Beginner) 1 on a dry fly, Scott Fraser on a camping weekend 15 and 8 mostly on damsels yellow owls, Best angler this week Mr Invisible, Brian Gilloway ( who once had his own west coast Fishery) he caught 25 on what was a long day, well done Brian, If anyone saw or picked up a reel please return it as it belongs to someone, John Cowie had 9 including a couple of Tigers ( I reckon there should be approx 30) Sandy Band back on form 7 including a tiger, Harry and Darragh ( Paramedics) 8 returned plus a perch, interestingly the Perch numbers have dropped significantly mostly I think due to the cull on them, Leslie Mitchell and Stewart had 9 on a white Fab +, Josh and Davie Bange had a great day 3 caught but they missed loads, so its been a successful week, a few days with nobody here but it was windy and wet however for those that come great fun and good sport and happy chappies that’s what going fishing should be
