“The Goldenloch”
Fishery Blog, Monday, 24/07/2022,
So we have lots of rising feeding fish, I have spent nearly all week shifting large amounts of weed, and for the rumours being spread about the “Goldenloch” that it is not fishable, in fact this is utter rubbish, it is for some, the best fishing there is, just a pity that these uncertain and doubtful untruths are coming from another Fishery, the jetty side is pretty much weed free as is the middle area and where there is weed, it is an area that some anglers find the best fishing around, at the top of the loch, anglers don’t need to go there, yet they do because that’s where the most fish are, dry flies are the best here with CDCs being brilliant Results are like this taken from our book,
- John Bashford 10 early morning
- Rod Thaw 14 one at 8lbs plus Great Day
- G Duff a couple of hours 4 left quick to meet someone
- Scott Fraser 13 just mostly from the bank
- Jim Anderson 8
- Lloyd John 8
- Phil Taylor 4
- Maia and Chris 7 beginner
- John Bowman 3 really hot day
- Malcolm Brown 3 really hot day
- Emily complete novice 4
- Colin Hay 4 (Wickams, daddies) evening sport
- Neil Craigie 6 9 Kate McLaren, Mini Muddlers)
- Geoff Gadd 7 + 2 Perch PTN +Yellow buzzers
- Jock Souter 2
- John Cowie 4 small dries
- John Grant 7 Daddies Great Day Comment
- Darin Taylor 9
So pretty much a sample of catches and some comments, but no complaints everyone enjoying there day, Jim and George that didn’t write in the book had a belter of a day in their usual spot, I will be honest there have been a few lads that don’t even get out there cars turning round in the car park, a couple that did go fishing that strip lures and its not that kind of place, in winter maybe, but to be honest its all about enjoying the day, people come here at 8am and stay till 4 of 5 all for £20 in a boat or on the bank, how good is that, We had four Osprey today two adults and two Juveniles Mum and dad teaching them to fish John McRobbie capturing the attached pictures.
Again on a sad note I have been informed that Clifford from Ladybank who use to partner Mario and were regulars here at the “Goldenloch” for many years has passed away, many will remember them as Mario used to fish with a Spey Rod and Reel
