“The Goldenloch”
November-09-2020-Week-44
Writing a fishing report is something I enjoy doing, this week its all about individuals or rather Characters, Brian Kemp, Kirkcaldy is a regular, who has definitely improved his fly fishing skills, this year has seen a big move for him into tying his own flies, the downside to that is the amount of fish he is catching, Sandy Band, Perth was a Balado angler, with its demise he started coming here, now a regular, a true bank angler, only last week he had 9 on dry flies, Leslie Mitchell, Dunfermline, like all anglers sometimes has a dry few visits, in breaking that boggy, this week had 6, Les is also a keen photographer and a real enthusiast fishing Stenhouse with his mates, Drew Graham, Kennoway, a long time regular used to come with his dogs, is an avid bank angler, always does well had 8 this past week, Andrew Morgan who comes with his buddy Alec Cuthbert, change between boat or bank often doing both, they both use the same flies, but some how Andrew seems to catch more, both enjoy there fishing and I use them to inform me about conditions, Alan Hyndman, Muirhead, is probably one of my better anglers and always comes with a very well behaved four legged friend, Allan usually gives me good advice as to what is happening on the water, Ian Wallace, is one of the Kinglassie boys, Ian loves his fishing and always loves being here for the whole day, his pals Derry Forrest, Coaltown of Wemyss and Rab Grierson were here on Saturday during a massive period of low air Pressure, Derry getting 4 and unusual for Rab how only had 1, good for a chat is Brian Imrie, Brian is another of the Kinglassie lads and his knowledge is amazing, like me he keeps a diary, he can call look up old fishing facts, Stewart Milne, Glenrothes after a long absence has returned to fish with us, Stewart is a person that shares information freely, but seems to be at the moment going through a bad patch, catching only 2 on Saturday, Thursdays, I look forward to visits from the “youth club” Jim Love catching 2, Colin Dun and Donald Robertson enjoying each other’s company, social distancing in a boat, continued in their usual ways, however no George for a week or two, This is a fraction of guys that come here and you are all welcome at any time It is my intention to take pictures of every one so as I have a record of you, but I go through so many cameras / phones, keeping pics is impossible, most importantly enjoy coming as I enjoy your company.
