“The Goldenloch”
August-10th-2020-Week-31
Been a week without torrential rain, but just I have just seen the forecast for the next few days, that is going to change, I really think that this is good news as it will keep the water temperature down, hopefully it will freshen up the loch, we were fishing amazing most of last week, but definitely better in the early morning, being honest that hasn’t changed that much, it’s just that the anglers don’t arrive till latter on, the weed front, it is still growing like mad, however, I am pretty much on top of it, at the moment, there are just one or two new patches in some places, but it’s easier to pull or cut them now as the massive bulk has gone, what I will say is that even although we have had much smaller returns (numbers caught) this week, anglers have all had a great time, nearly 100% of people fishing just now are catch and release, so getting fish to the boat and losing them is pretty much due to the fact that they are all using barbless hooks, this is something everyone is commenting on, also soft takes and tugs is a sure sign that there is a huge ample supply of food in the water, Rod Thaw using Damsels had 12, Stevie Fyffe 5 returned all caught on buzzers, Derek Robertson 8 rainbow 7 brown CDC Sedge, A Seivwright, 3 rainbow 3 Browns, Alder Fly, Sandy Band 3 Brownies Black Lure, John Bashford, + A Drummond 6 3 rainbow 3 browns, Morrison 7 using a green Tag, Shaun Gavin and Robert Gavin, 5 on Olive Damsels, John Robertson Jim Rennie visited one day and had in what was the hottest day of the year a great day 10 to the boat, Wayne and Les also had a good day with Wayne getting 9, I appealed for flies last week and have had a wee response, so a big thank-you for what has been handed in , fly boxes are ordered and a lot of sorting is required, all will be used, Please send me your surplus flies They will be put to good use I can guarantee that. Send to: The Goldenloch Fishery. Berryhill Farm, Newburgh, Fife, KY14 6HZ
