“The Goldenloch”
February-23rd-2020-Week 8
Another week of maintenance, but another week lost week to “The Weather,” however it is still fishing well, and not a complete loss for the ones that ventured out, Brian Stewart, on Wednesday had a good afternoon, although hooking several fish he didn’t actually get any to the net, instead several straightened hooks, he was furious at his supplier that he bought them from as they are so weak, but being on Catch and release he didn’t really care, it was more of the annoyance, my Norwegian friend was here on Thursday, having had a bad dose of kabin Fever, he was desperate to get out fishing, managing a couple I think, it was a nice day and nice to see him back, with the new season about to start well unofficially March 1st which is next week, I am hoping the weather will improve as the ground is sodden, other lads during the week minus wellies found it hard with soaking feet, my CCTV system has taken an absolute hammering this winter, what with all the damp and rain, so replacement cameras are being installed, in better places, we cover the car park and the harbour in case of incidents, it’s also so I can observe from my office, boat repair and repainting is just about complete, so please, if anglers could just please give the anchors a quick rinse in the loch, before bringing them into the boats, this saves a huge amount of work, maintenance is ongoing and is never ending and is something that anglers never see or realise happens for example the jetties have had a hammering this year and will require a few screws and nails to tighten them up, making all safe and sound, we are going to install a new method of parking the boats, which will require that each boat has a space of its own, a walkway on either side, the idea is that boats will be reversed into the jetty and therefore allow easier embarking and disembarking the fitting and removal of electric motors will be a lot more easily.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
