“Goldenloch”
November-25th– 2019, Week 46
Early morning fishing just now just isn’t happening, don’t know why but every morning just now is really dark and cold, it takes a few hours to brighten and warm up but when it does the fishing is good on Wednesday past we were coming out of ice and the only places that were fishable was round the jetties for about six feet, two brothers Stephen and James Mc Donald from Stirling, wanted to fish and having traveled a mega distance the day before and not found anywhere open, I was happily allowing them to fish for free as I was breaking the ice with the icebreaker, well didn’t one of them have a great day with 5 to the net, a donation was gratefully received Lol, but its been a poor week, however what would you expect at this time of year, the fishing seems to be really good at the top of the loch just now, believe it or not fish getting caught using dry flies, Andi Halley having a great day but more importantly George from Methil had 3 all on dry flies, its good stuff just now but the winter brings a lot of new problems, it would seem that the otters are back, and perhaps we have a mink as a few of the fish that’s been caught have been bitten, I haven’t applied for a license to shoot cormorants this year, the criteria states that you must have a three year record of visiting birds, also since SNH has taken over the complete and absolute control of wild birds in Scotland about 8/9 years ago all of my applications have failed, but a clear and accurate account for SCOTLAND is given on the following link if you Google it, Wild-birds-and-the-law-Scotland, but just for clarity Scotland and England have completely different rules and if you are campaigning for cormorant control make sure it’s the Scottish SNH, So I will continue with my own measures which seem to be ultra effective.
