October-18th– 2019, Week 40
Oops this should have been my Monday report but life just now with school holidays etc, has been hectic, these last few days bearing in mind this is Friday have been a lot harder than the week before, mostly due to the very cold conditions and the chilling breeze that zips over the water, it is a strange weather pattern in that it can be relatively warm them absolutely freezing in minutes, loads of feeding fish and the ones that are being caught fighting like demons, Neil Christie fishing with his grandson Cameron Chrystal, had a great day and caught some great fish, whilst another Grandad brought two novice anglers yesterday in basically horrible cold we t conditions and caught nothing, other catches Brian Kemp 3 kept, Sand Drummond having a good day, Sandy Band another great day all returned, It has been a long time since the water has been so clear; it is positively gin clear and with that came the reactions like the bank anglers had yesterday, they never have had so many fish chasing flies, using yellow dancers, both Stan and Donald fishing from the middle and third jetties, played with the fish and suddenly getting a big bow waves towards catching the flies, it was the same for the chaps in the boats, fish suddenly coming from no where were swimming like mad and positively thumping flies at full speed and pulling like trains in all directions, George fishing from the old jetty banking had 6, all returned he as well reckoned that the fish were on steroids’, what he did say was because the fish were so visible, it made striking harder as you tended to lift quicker than normal, due mostly to the fact that anticipation got the better of actual feeling the fish, but its been good fun.
