Goldenloch
December – 02nd – Week49 -2018
Much nicer week, a bit warmer, however there was still a fair bit of rain up to last weekend, but at last no more frost and cold mornings, the fishing has improved with every day, in the last five or six days, plus the water is now clear, on a bright day there is very little to be seen out in the loch in the way of insect life or fly life, what there is though is beetles, snails and pond skaters near the shores, mostly where there is weed, Ian Wallace today caught a number of fish that seemed to be finding something interesting to eat next to one of the barley straw round bales that were put in to ward of next years algae, also Darin Taylor here trying out a new line on the boat jetty, had 2 rapid and then spent the rest of the day on the bank picking up a reasonable amount of fish, yesterday it was exactly the same with Brian Stewart on 7 and Harold on 8, We have now in record time sold the quota of tickets allocated as day tickets/block bookings, we only have left random tickets that can be purchased as Christmas presents, if any one is interested please refer to the previous report. New surface of tar planning’s to try and stop holes in the road plus a new gravel surface in the car park (no more muddy feet) a few fish showing today and Sandy Drummond seems to have cracked it Kaptain Kemp perhaps has 3 lost 3 and Neil well I am sure 2 at least. But one of the exciting highlights has to be the bird spotted by Neil and the Kaptain; it seems to have taken up a roost in the new tree area which is called Olives Mound after my wee grand daughter, personally I have been pretty occupied with the bigger not so popular black death birds.
