Really good sport fishing
week ending 05/04/04
Wind and heavy rain this weekend at the Goldenloch put of all but the hardiest anglers and for those that ventured out rewards were plentiful, both Saturday and Sunday ended with clear skies and perfect conditions but the mornings were atrocious, getting catches were Mr Hunter, Leven 3 for 7lbs 6oz using black/green and returning a further 3, P Newland, Southampton visiting 9 all returned using various nymphs and buzzers, excellent fishing was his comments, Mr Iain Wallace who on his usual flying visit returned 6 using buzzers and his favoured Diawl Bach’s, Earlier in the week Mr Nigel Bushnell, Cupar using his own home tied buzzers managed his best ever catch a whopping 10lb Rainbow, this fish had him fighting and going round the boat several times before he managed to land it, pleased as punch he then proceeded to catch another 6 fish all on the same fly returning 4 of them he now feels he has the perfect fly and hopes to better his bag catch of 16 lbs the next time he goes fishing. Another angler with inventive fly designs is Mr B Hamill, St Andrews, using only his own home ties with various names and designs managed 3 for 6lbs, From the bank catches have been tremendous and Jim Wilson, Dalgety Bay, had what could have been his best day ever returning all 9 he had strong fights from every fish and commented that his arm was sore from pulling the rod using as usual his Consett Budgie.
